Now I’d like to give some information about the origination of the 2nd Mind Dharma “Samyagdrsti-prabha samadhi”. It was in early 2006 when we moved to reside in the area of Dinh Mountain, Phu My Town where we chose the name of our place as Song Nguyen Tantra House. Initially, I focused on practicing the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. We might not be too diligent but at least we did practice for two or three sessions a day. This, plus experiences of 15 years of researching Buddhism and studying in various pagodas, have driven me to write articles about Buddhist Dharma and it reached the cusp with two most elaborate books completed in 2010: “One Life, One Mantra” and “Dharma is Life, Life is Dharma”. From then on, I wrote down my feelings and explorations of various aspects of Buddhist doctrines every morning in two consecutive years which reached the total of 500 posts (which is mentioned by Mat Dieu in her article named “As the Sunlight Fades” on

Those 500 articles should’ve been kept in computer for my own if Mat Pho (my disciple) did not give out a suggestion based on which, I and Mat Hai set up a personal blog named in early 2013, just like what I’ve affirmed in Part 4 on the benefits of right view and dis-benefits of wrong view. Initially, got only 20-30 views, then jumped to 100 which made us so excited. Then fast forward 6 years to today 2019, the number of views has reached three figures to 2000. In the beginning, Vietnamese was the sole language on the blog but now, there are more five languages including English, Russian, South Korean, Chinese and Japanese. At the start, the communication was just within the boundary of the country but there have so far had followers and disciples coming from all over the world, notably some of them are holding Prof and Doctorate degrees, like Tantra Sutradaka.

In my perception, a Vajrayana practitioner who has taken Bodhicitta vows obviously needs promote Application Bodhicitta, i.e guiding the sentient beings to practice dharma for liberation. Seeing the efficacy of, I’d encouraged followers and disciples to write down their own thinking and translate my articles into other languages. I used to wait for their comments – a valueless gift for me for knowing that they’d read and we could share thoughts with each other. Today, I get quite a few of comments from readers in and outside the country. Naturally, chanhtuduy.combecomes an active site for spiritual engagement and interaction. With such advanced information technology, I can post and expound Dharma sermons right on chanhtuduy.comwhich opens the chance for everyone in the world to access. The connection between Guru and followers thus is getting closer, more regular and effervescent. Just with a click, anyone from anywhere can read easily. Also incidentally, chanhtuduy.comhas got a large number of young readers, followers and disciples who are familiar with social networking, the internet and computers while the elder has less ability to use them.

From then on, has become an encouraging and motivating source of mine and it makes me realize that is a Vimalakīrti room as the Mahayana canons describe. The Vimalakīrti Sutra records that Vimalakīrti is a wealthy layman in Vaisali who is held in high esteem by all. He lives with a wife and many female attendants in a grand, magnificient palace. Looking from outside, he is a wealthy layman but deep down inside, he has advanced spiritual power, given ten great disciples of the Buddha have to admiringly accept his rectification in the battle of wits and wisdom. Therefore, the Buddha praises the supreme wisdom of Vimalakīrti which is far more superior than his disciples. Later in modern time, Venerable Master Chin Kungasserts: “The one who upholds the Dharma lineageof buddhas in the form of bhikkhus is Shakyamuni. The one who upholds the Dharma lineage of buddhas in the form of layman is Vimalakīrti.” The sutra says Vimalakīrti is feigning illness to teach the sentient being not to cling to external appearance to avoid subjective discrimination. All lay practitioners from princes to the common folk, the Buddha’s string of advanced disciples led by Bodhisattva Mañjuśrī, and countless number of ghostkings, nagas and devas come to visit and listen to his Dharma teachings. Vimalakīrti miraculously transforms his apparently narrow room (30 square meter) into a vast cosmic palace which can accommodate countless number of visitors at the same time without any obstruction. He then performs the miracle of transforming the mind of sentient beings through the conversation with Bodhisattva Mañjuśrī. Likewise, millions of readers around the world can access our without any obstruction. After the post by Mat Nga titled “Miracles in the time of Internet”, I’ve officially named as “Vimalakīrti’s Palace” as the sutra’s description.

At present, Song Nguyen Tantra House is the unique organization in the international Buddhist arena that is able to build the “Vimalakīrti’s Palace”. Why is that? This is because it needs around 500-1000 “bricks of right view” upwards to build such site or such “Vimalakīrti’s Palace” which is a big difficulty for other Buddhist websites. There are nearly 2,500 articles posted on which uniquely explore various aspects of Buddhist Dharma. One will need around three consecutive years to fully appreciate this “Vimalakīrti’s Palace”! Although some Buddhist websites own similar number of articles such as Thu Vien Hoa Sen (Lotus Library) but up to 80% of them are copied from other websites, not to mention many of them are junk posts or with inappropriate contents. Hence, the number of articles is not a decisive factor to define the “Vimalakīrti’s Palace”. Likewise, it isn’t called a castle just because it is high, large and multi-leveled. Hence, we should be proud of what Song Nguyen Tantra House’s achieved as our “Vimalakīrti’s Palace” is unique in the global Buddhist arena.

above analysis, you should appreciate your chance to visit this precious, unique “Dharma garden” by regularly reading and writing comments. It should be noticed that reading on is likened to chanting sutras but the articles themselves are not sutra because the writers are just ordinary people like us. However, these articles are written based on Buddhist doctrines, partly or fully transmitting precious teachings of the Buddha and enlightened ones, thus can be called “chanting sutras”. Obviously, a Buddhist monk or lay practitioner who chants official sutras will get better results from reading but pitifully, if they lack right view, all meritorious deeds will leave serious consequences, as asserted by Bodhisattva Nagarjuna. In the meantime, members of Song Nguyen Tantra House are able to accumulate and preserve their merit for having been equipped with parts or fullness of right view, much or less depending on their right diligence.

Currently, all articles in English are being locked while there are only 50-70 posts in Vietnamese are opened for readers for sowing the seed of Bodhicitta. Those who read and comment for 30 articles upwards will be provided with log-in account and become visitor of this unique Buddhist garden. In order to qualify as an official member of ITA, they need go through a ceremony of taking refuge in the Three Jewels (a form of Bai Shi ceremony) after being examined on their spiritual endeavor. Anyone who shows to be lazy and absent on for a long period will have account revoked. Besides, after getting a Dharma name and become the follower of Song Nguyen Tantra House, he or she is responsible for the payment of membership of VND200,000 per month, as a contribution towards the site maintenance. I hope that all of you, followers or disciples, will show respect and appreciation to this 2ndMind Dharma by practicing diligently every day.

May those who have good affinity and strong ability get permission for Dharma practice and true Dharma transmission in the future.

May all sentient beings achieve the happiness of Buddha’s nature
